Sensory Boxes

At Autism In Reach, we understand that custody environments can be overwhelming, especially for autistic individuals and those with additional sensory needs.

Our Sensory Boxes are thoughtfully created to provide comfort, regulation, and reassurance during difficult and overstimulating times. Each box is carefully packed with practical and calming items to help reduce anxiety and promote wellbeing.

What's in the box?

Every box is put together with intention and care.

Each one includes:

  • Testimony Book

  • Journal

  • Eye Mask

  • Ear Plugs (1 pack)

  • Tissues (1 pack)

  • Sensory Toothbrush & Toothpaste

  • Hand Cream

  • Face Wipe

  • Socks (1 pair)

  • Drinking Chocolate

  • Biscuits

  • 5 Sensory Items (such as stress balls and tactile tools)

Each item has been chosen to support sensory regulation, comfort, and dignity.

Why do Sensory Boxes Matter?

For someone with autism or sensory processing challenges, bright lights, noise, unfamiliar routines, and lack of personal control can be extremely distressing.

These boxes help by:

• Reducing sensory overload

• Supporting emotional regulation

• Encouraging self-soothing strategies

• Promoting personal care and dignity

• Providing a small but meaningful reminder that someone cares

Alongside practical items, each box contains a testimony book and journal. These offer space for reflection, encouragement, and hope.

We believe support should care for both practical needs and emotional wellbeing.

Sometimes, something as simple as soft socks, a calming drink, or a quiet moment with an eye mask can make a significant difference.

How Can You Help?

Every sensory box is funded through donations and community support.

If you would like to sponsor a box or contribute towards the cost of supplies, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we can bring comfort, dignity, and hope to people who need it most.
